घरेलू बाजार में चीनी के दाम बढ़ने से मिलों ने निर्यात के नए अनुबंधों पर फिलहाल रोक लगा दी है। घरेलू बाजार में चीनी का मूल्य दो महीने के भीतर 13 फीसदी बढ़ चुका है और कीमतें चार साल के शीर्ष पर पहुंच गई हैं।
